2026 VENICE FILM FESTIVAL AWARDS WINNER PREDICTIONS

My predictions for the winners of the awards/prizes handed out at the 83rd Annual Venice Film Festival. Winners will announced on September 12th. 

Although I'm not physically there, spiritually for the past weeks I've been following along with the latest reactions and reviews for most every film premiering at the Venice Film Festival. 

This year's Venice Jury of seven, led by American actress & filmmaker Maggie Gyllenhaal, will vote on the awards/prizes, which makes them very unpredictable yet here I am making my predictions as per usual. If I went 0/7 in these predictions, I wouldn't be surprised at all. 

GOLDEN LION 

Will win: Wild Horse Nine 

Could win: Possible Love 

GRAND JURY PRIZE 

Will win: NAZA 

Could win: Possible Love 

SPECIAL JURY PRIZE 

Will win: Bunker 

Could win: The Spiral 

SILVER LION (BEST DIRECTOR) 

Will win: Werner Herzog- Bucking Fastard 

Could win: Lance Oppenheim- Primetime 

VOLPI CUP FOR BEST ACTRESS 

Will win: Mathilde Arcel- Woman Unknown 

Could win: Romana Maggiora Vergano- The Spiral 

VOLPI CUP FOR BEST ACTOR

Will win: Adriano Giannini- Back To Buenos Aires & The Spiral 

Could win: Robert Pattinson- Primetime 

BEST SCREENPLAY 

Will win: Possible Love
